Affiliate Disclosure

If you’ve spent any time reading camera reviews or home staging guides, you’ve probably run into the phrase “affiliate link.” It can sound a bit corporate, so I want to explain what it means here — plainly, and in my own words.

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. That means if you click through and buy something — a lens, a lighting kit, a piece of editing software — I may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. I don’t see what you buy, and I don’t get access to your personal details. The commission is simply a thank-you from the retailer for sending a genuine recommendation their way.

I started adding these links after years of answering the same questions from agents and homeowners: “What tripod do you use for twilight shots?” or “Is there a budget-friendly flash that still looks natural?” These aren’t theoretical questions — they come from real people trying to make their property photos stand out. Affiliate links let me point you toward the exact tools I’ve tested on shoots, without turning the site into a storefront.

Here’s what matters most to me:

  • I only link to products I’ve used myself. If I write about a wide-angle lens, it’s because I’ve shot a dozen kitchens with it and know how it handles distortion. If I mention a virtual staging platform, I’ve uploaded floor plans and walked through the results. No exceptions.
  • My opinions aren’t for sale. I’ve turned down partnership offers when the product didn’t hold up during a real shoot. A commission never influences whether I recommend something, and I’ll always be honest about a tool’s weaknesses — because your trust matters more than a one-time payout.
  • The site has to support itself. Running this blog — hosting, testing gear, traveling to shoots — costs money. Affiliate commissions help cover those expenses without putting content behind a paywall or cluttering the pages with intrusive ads.

You’ll recognize affiliate links because they look like normal text links, often to retailers like B&H, Adorama, or Amazon. I also participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, which is designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

If you ever have questions about how this works, or want a non-affiliate alternative to a product I’ve mentioned, just reach out. I’m not here to push gear — I’m here to help you take better listing photos, whether you’re an agent with a smartphone or a homeowner preparing for a professional shoot. The affiliate links are simply a practical way to keep the blog going while sharing the tools that have made a difference in my own work.

Thank you for reading, and for trusting this site as a resource.
